Lighting for healthcare environments can be complex and requires demanding, thoughtful solutions.
A broad range of end users, all with different needs, meant the lighting provided to Mersey Community Hospital, required an array of solutions that were welcoming, calming and practical while boosting staff productivity and wellbeing.
Of course, being an extensive site with 24 hr operational use, the requirement for quality luminaires with extended lifetimes and minimal maintenance was a non-negotiable. The implementation of luminaires that harness two- way communication, offer flexibility and provide the Department of Health with important data collection that ultimately provide energy and monetary savings.
Equipped for this application was a mixture of Eagle Lighting & Xero Linear Lighting Systems. Eagle, a specialist in healthcare lighting provided uncompromising light to new theatres, procedure and consult rooms. Whilst Xero Linear provided sleek, minimal aesthetics to corridors throughout.
C Block sees the facility receive a new physio room, 5 new paediatric consultation rooms, a new audiology room, as well as new office space, bed recovery spaces, and more.
E Block includes 4 new theatre spaces, 6 specialist small procedure rooms, general consultation rooms, and a completely new plant room that will service the new and upgraded facilities.
